If you work in a low-risk catering environment or are simply looking to expand your knowledge as a hobbyist, this course is ideal for you. However, if you are involved, or are going to be involved in the direct preparation of food within a business environment, you must be trained to a higher level. Our accredited Food Safety Level 2 training course is ideal for most food handlers working in a catering or retail environment. If you work in a food manufacturing environment our accredited Food Safety in Manufacturing Level 2 course is perfect for you.
Supervisors and managers must be trained to a higher level again, and the accredited Food Safety Level 3 e-learning course is designed for this level of employee. It is also useful for owners of small catering businesses.
Food Safety Level 1 Course duration
The course will typically take 2 to 3 hours to complete, however as this is training programme it is hosted online, learners can complete each module at a pace to suit them.
Test and certification for the food safety elearning course
The course is assessed by multiple-choice questions at the end of the course. Learners must score 100% in order to pass. If the learner does not achieve 100% first time for this food safety Level 1 course, they will be taken back to review the module with which they have struggled. They can then retry the multiple-choice questions as many times as necessary to pass the course.
Please note this course does not provide a qualification itself but does meet mandatory training requirements. If you wish to achieve a recognised level 1 food safety qualification you must sit an exam with a recognised training provider (you can still use the e-learning as the knowledge element of the training).
You will receive an electronic copy of your certificate immediately on completion of the course. This certificate, which is the equivalent of the old basic food hygiene certificate, may be printed and used as evidence that you have been trained in food hygiene to the appropriate level.
