Food Safety Course Online Level 2 is for food handlers that work in a catering environment, including restaurants, cafes, hotels, bars, fast food outlets, takeaways, mobile food, kitchens, hospitals, schools and colleges. This elearning course is not a qualification however it does meet mandatory training requirements for food handlers. This Level 2 food safety training is the equivalent of the old basic food hygiene certificate and it is recognised by environmental health officers and local authorities as it meets the legal obligations for the training of food handlers. Is this training course right for me?

Food Safety Level 2 online training course is ideal for those who work in a catering environment. If you work within a food manufacturing environment, their is a dedicated training course; the Food Safety in Manufacturing Level 2. This online training course is designed specifically with the differences between manufacturing and catering food businesses in mind.

If you don’t directly handle food, or only work with low-risk foods, you may consider the Food Safety Level 1 e-learning course.

If you’re a supervisor or manager you need to be trained to a higher level, therefore the Food Safety Level 3 e-learning course is ideal for you.

Will my certificate be accepted by environmental health officers?

On successful completion of this online food safety training, you can download your certificate on completion. This level 2 food safety certificate is the equivalent of the old basic food hygiene certificate. The certificate is accepted by many EHOs as it confirms that you have been trained to the appropriate level. This e-learning course is also CPD accredited. Completion of this elearning course after 5 February 2019 entitles the learner to 9 CPD points.

Food Safety Course duration

The course will typically take four to five hours to complete, however as this food safety training is hosted online, learners can complete each module at a time and pace to suit them.

Entry requirements

There are no prerequisites to register for this course however a basic understanding of principles of food safety will be beneficial.

Certification

The course is assessed by multiple choice questions. Learners must achieve 100% in order to pass. If the learner does not achieve the full pass rate on their first time, they will be taken back to review the module to review and amend. They can then retry the multiple-choice questions, this can be done as many times as necessary in order to pass the course.

Please note: this course does not provide a qualification itself but it does meet mandatory training requirements.

You will receive an electronic copy of your certificate immediately on successful completion of the course. This highfield accredited certificate, which is the equivalent of the old basic food hygiene certificate, can be printed and used as evidence that you have been trained in food hygiene to the appropriate level.
